BCCA Webserver Tournament Rules...

  1. The BCCA shall organise a Webserver Tournament in all-play-all sections.
  2. The BCCA Executive Committee shall appoint a Tournament Controller to organise and run the tournament.
  3. Entry is open to all BCCA members. All entrants must have internet access and a valid E-mail address.
  4. Entries for 7-player Preliminary sections may be made at any time. Each section shall start whenever sufficient entries have been received. Each player may enter more than one section.
The Tournament Controller shall have the discretion to vary the number of players in a section.
  5. Competitors shall play one game against each of the others in the same section. The commencement date and colours in each game shall be notified in the pairing notice.
  6. The two highest scoring players in a Preliminary section shall qualify for a Final. Ties shall not be broken in a Preliminary section so it is possible that more than two players may qualify from one section.
  7. A Final shall be organised as soon as there are at least seven qualifiers. A final may consist of between seven and eleven players at the discretion of the Tournament Controller.
  8. In the Final, ties shall be broken using the Sonneborn-Berger system.
  9. Games shall be played in accordance with the ICCF Webserver Playing Rules in being at the commencement date, except as may be otherwise provided in these rules.
  10. The Time Control shall be 10 moves in 40 days. The maximum duration of any Preliminary section shall be twelve months at which time any remaining games shall be adjudicated. There will be no maximum duration for a Final.
  11. All games shall be played on the ICCF webserver. All games shall be shown "live" to the viewing public with a three-move delay.
  12. Any matters concerning the organisation and running of the tournament not covered in these Rules or the Playing Rules, shall be decided at the discretion of the Tournament Controller.
  13. Players may appeal against decisions of the Tournament Controller, by applying direct to the BCCA General Secretary within seven days of receiving the decision in question. The appeal shall be referred to the BCCA Executive Committee whose decision shall be final.
  14. The BCCA reserves the right to decline an entry or entries without stating a reason or entering into any further correspondence.
  15. Entry Fee and the value of prizes shall be determined in accordance with BCCA General Rule 17.
  16. BCCA Playing Rule H1 shall apply.

Founded in 1906, the BCCA is a non profit making organisation run entirely by members. We provide National and International tournaments and are affiliated to the British Federation for Correspondence Chess.
