The first division of the Counties & Districts Correspondence Chess Championship (C&DCCC) (also called the ‘Ward-Higgs’) will now be ICCF rated. This is not before time as some of the strongest CC games played in the UK annually occur in this competition. Well known OTB players and other personalities take part including, for this season, Susan Lalic, Ken Neat, Bernard Cafferty and Dominic Lawson. Strong CC players include CC GM Peter Coleman who is playing BCCA’s own John Rhodes.

Double edged for me Phill, I’ve gone several years unbeaten at County Level but can’t win a game on the webserver!

The only problem with putting some of it on the webserver is who pays for it? As it is an ECF event, they must pay and I can’t see that happening.

Hi guys
The controller has circulated all the teams and certainly from Yorks point of view we be in favour. It is interesting that the counties pay nothing to enter? a 30p per member would cover it as I think the ICCF charges 60p per game. Compare this with the cost of a game played by post!
He certainly gives me the impression that it was on the agenda
cheers
Phill
