BCCA Grading...
The BCCA Grading List is a BCCA publication for the interest of members, who are reminded that a BCCA grade has no significance for OTB purposes and should not be quoted as a qualification for entry to OTB tournaments.
A grade of 180 for a player means that they have played the required number of games (30 under the BCF calculation process) within the last three years.
A grade of E180 for a player means that they have played between 15-30 games in the past three years. The estimated grade will be used for calculations in subsequent years.
A grade of N180 for a player means that they have played fewer than 15 games and therefore their grade remains unchanged.
I would like to make two points concerning new members. It is customary to start new players off with a grade of 120. However, when sufficient data is held to make a better judgement, this grade can be amended either up or down. In addition, some new members will find that their N rating from last time has been amended either up or down. This is because I now have more data than last year and thus the new grade is a better reflection.
Finally, if your name is not included in the list below then you are either a non-playing member or I have not been advised of any games played by you in the last year.
SOT and the Centenary Evans and Kieseritsky Gambit events have not been included for grading purposes.
Should any member wish me to clarify any of the above or have any query about their grade then please do contact the Grading Officer.
